SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Charles Lawson, Senior Vice President of Government Services at JND Legal Administration, has been recognized by the Profiles in Diversity Journal (PDJ) as a recipient of the inaugural Black Leaders Worth Watching Award. The individuals selected for award are recognized for their dedication to excellence and commitment to their communities, and for their willingness to mentor and support our next generation of black leaders.
“We are proud and pleased to honor these outstanding leaders and recognize the organizations that support their success,” says James Rector, Profiles in Diversity Journal publisher. “With this year’s Award, we introduce our first class of Black Leaders Worth Watching. We look forward to featuring many more remarkable black leaders in the pages of our magazine over the coming years.”
Prior to leading the Government Services division at JND Legal Administration, Charles Lawson worked for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for more than 17 years. Among many notable accomplishments achieved during his tenure at the FTC, Lawson was responsible for the oversight of settlement administration and the distribution of consumer refunds for a full decade. He also successfully developed a partnership between the agency and major American cities to promote consumer protection education and was instrumental in developing a best practices committee among federal regulators engaged in settlement administration. Lawson continues to be routinely sought after by federal, state, and municipal consumer protection agencies regarding administration of settlements, establishment of settlement program offices and federal contracting implementation.
“I am proud to work for an organization that champions diversity and leadership, and I am humbled to have been nominated by JND for this award,” says Lawson. “I’d also like to congratulate my fellow 2020 Black Leaders Worth Watching Award winners. To all the women and men selected by the Journal to receive this award: Thank you for your commitment and continued leadership. Each of you inspire me.”
Charles Lawson is the second executive at JND to be recognized for diversity and excellence in leadership in recent years. Chief executive officer and co-founder of JND Legal Administration, Jennifer Keough, has been recognized by the Profiles in Diversity Journal multiple times in the annual Women Worth Watching Awards. JND is the only legal administration firm in the country with a woman CEO and CFO, and the only legal administration firm to be recognized in the Journal’s inaugural Black Leaders Worth Watching Awards. With diverse representation at all levels of the organization, diversity is a founding principle and guiding practice at JND.
The 2020 Black Leaders Worth Watching Awards selected 54 leaders from the nonprofit, manufacturing, higher education, health care, legal, professional and government sectors. Profiles in Diversity Journal’s November issue will feature profiles of all honorees and will be available online at http://www.diversityjournal.com.
